SEE THE COMPANY'S TIMELINE
Josef Allen and Justin Peavey were in high school when they determined they wanted to pursure careers in the theatre arts. In November 2014, it was a dream come true when they began to establish the "Center Stage Theatre Company".
The two have a very similar taste in musical theatre, and that became evident when work on the company started. Allen and Peavey both wanted to produce shows that were meaningful, enjoyable, and exhilirating, but not well known, and therefore not as performed. The brainstorming took off until it was decided that the company's goal was to provide the area with a large variety of different plays and musicals and show how much culture and utter brilliance is evident in the world of the performing arts.
Allen and Peavey spent days thinking of a name, and once it was decided, they took off. The two were excited and anxious to begin working, and within a week, they knew exactly what they wanted for their new nonprofit. "Center Stage" was officially incorporated on April 18, 2015 and started work immediately on their first production, Legally Blonde JR.
At the beginning of 2018, Josef and Justin will be signing off the company to their Vice President, Nate Joyall and their costume designer, Cam Mulcahy who produced their latest show, Bringing Back Broadway 2017. The two new leaders will assume the titles of Co-Presidents like Josef and Justin before, and Delaney MacFarland, the current choreographer will assume the position of Artistic Director for all the work she has contributed over the years.
